I think the article is a bit misleading and should be rewritten in various places. This event is basically an attempt at third impact that failed, and the real third impact occurred later when Mark.06 (under the influence of the Twelfth Angel) beheaded Lilith. I think it should be "The event called "Near Third Impact" is a near cataclysmic event which occurred at the end of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance where an attempt to cause Third Impact ultimately failed.
